The three main causes of infertility in women are Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Endometriosis, and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID).
A Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is a medical condition that causes the ovaries to act in an abnormal way leading to irregularity or lack of menstrual periods, absent or abnormal ovulation and infertility. Symptoms of PCOS may include an increased facial and body hair known as hirsutism, acne, obesity, darkened of the skin color ove the armpits, neck, inner thighs, and groin, vaginal yeast infections and an irregular menstrual periods or no period at all.
Endometriosis is likewise a medical condition. Here, the tissues lining the inside of the uterus which is called endometrium spreads to the other areas of the body and most commonly, to the pelvic organs. The endometrial tissues found on the fallopian tubes and ovaries can then lead to adhesion, scarring and blockages within the pelvis.
Lastly, the Pelvic Inflammatory Disease or the PID. Symptoms of PID may vary greatly from fever, severe pain, discomfort or no symptoms at all. However, the most common symptoms of a PID includes an abnormal vaginal discharge, abnormal menstrual bleeding, Painful urination, fever and chills, nausea and vomiting, pain in the pelvis or in the abdomen, and a painful sexual intercourse.
