Managers as Mentors

To be a good manager means to be a good follower.  Before a person can be a leader, he or she first need to be a good follower.  He follows his or her boss in order to be sufficient in his job.  As an ordinary employee, he or she does what his or her boss commands him to do.  Sometimes failure is there but he or she can manage the situation.  He or she is not deciding rapidly but instead he thinks for several times before deciding in a matter.  As time goes by he or she becomes promoted as manager and he never forget that once in his career he became an ordinary employee.  He values the feelings of his employees.  He has positive attitude in treating his employees, given them moral support for the fulfillment of the vision.  He convinces his subordinates that their goal is to help everyone shine.  Taking credit for their contributions to the job is highly appreciated.  Interestingly enough, respecting your employee’s assets is one boost of confidence to get the success of the job.  Teamwork is the greatest way on how the vision is to be fulfilled.  Keeping in their mind that a thousand journey begins with one step.  They must focus and love what they are doing because no one can tell what they can become in the near future.
